I guess CBS likes showing SEC games. They’ll be doing it for a long time.

The conference and the network have announced a 15-year agreement for CBS to broadcast SEC football and games through the 2023 season.

I don’t think anyone really has any idea how we’ll watch sports in 2023 — maybe dashboard TVs on our personal rockets? — but CBS seems to have everything covered. The deal includes digital, internet, wireless, video-on-demand, data and highlight rights across all CBS platforms, and the indications are that CBS has big plans for putting video on the web.

One thing this deal does mean is that the SEC won’t follow in the Big Ten’s footsteps and create an SEC Network. The SEC is now clearly tied to CBS, and CBS is the television home of the SEC. For a long time.
