University of Toledo President Lloyd Jacobs was confident heading into the Michigan game, telling a reporter, “We’re gonna kick ass.”
Georgia LT Vince Vance is out for the season with a knee injury, making him the second starting left tackle the Bulldogs have lost this season.
North Carolina WR Brandon Tate suffered what is described as “a significant knee injury with ligament damage” in Saturday’s win over Notre Dame
Says Clemson QB Willy Korn of why he hasn’t talked to the teammate he replaced, Cullen Harper, “There’s not a whole lot to talk about obviously. He’s going to handle it with a lot of class, I know he will.”
Army did not complete a pass in its 17-13 win over Eastern Michigan on Saturday.
Says Penn State WR Deon Butler, “This team is really confident in itself and its ability — not cocky but confident. We go out and play with a little bit of a swagger and I think it shows on the field.”
Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville is considering giving playing time to QBs Barrett Trotter and Neil Caudle after both Kodi Burns and Chris Todd struggled in the loss to Arkansas.
Says Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops, “You just watch everyone else play, it isn’t that easy to go undefeated at all. There’s a ton of games left. There’s half the season left, and a lot of good teams out there. We’ve got to be ready to play to be at our best. Chances are everyone else could have the same thing happen to them.”
Tulsa coach Todd Graham called the narrow win over SMU a “big-time wake-up call.”
