Penn State coach Joe Paterno finally made his decision on a starting quarterback today, saying Daryll Clark will be his No. 1 quarterback on Saturday against Coastal Carolina.

Clark, a junior was engaged in a battle with Pat Devlin throughout the off-season, and Paterno says Devlin should get some playing time against Coastal Carolina as well.

Obviously, Penn State isn’t going to have any trouble with Coastal Carolina, a Division I-AA team, and the Nittany Lions will likely be favored in their other non-conference games, against Oregon State, at Syracuse and home against Temple. So Clark will get his first big test on September 27 against Illinois.
